The Gallery
Giustini / Stagetti was founded in Rome in 2009 by Roberto Giustini and Stefano Stagetti. The gallery specializes in both twentieth century Italian design and in International contemporary design.
Research on modern design focuses on the masters of italian architecture and decorative arts between the 1930s and 1970s with a particular emphasis on authors such as Franco Albini, Gio Ponti, Gino Sarfatti, Carlo Scarpa. The gallery is also dedicated to the research into the Venetian glass production from the 1910s through the 1960s.
The promotion of contemporary design consists in inviting authors to create limited edition collections designed exclusively for the gallery, giving a personal interpretation of the cultural and traditional craftmanship Italian techniques. Since 2011 collaborations have followed one another with Campana Brothers, Marie-Anne Derville, Konstantin Grcic, Andrea Anastasio, Formafantasma, Umberto Riva, Anton Alvarez and Francesco Faccin.
Giustini / Stagetti regularly collaborates with museums and public institutions to support and promote the designers and their work.
The Space
The gallery space, designed by Umberto Riva in 2022, stands as the final expression of his lifelong exploration, shaped around three fundamental elements: materials, light, and geometry. In this intimate setting, design and architecture seamlessly merge.
By juxtaposing Carrara marble terrazzo flooring with enamels and lime plasters blended in a dynamic alchemy, Riva masterfully harnessed light to reveal a rich spectrum of whites. The space, though essential, is far from ordinary—clefts, diagonals, and subtle variations in section create a rhythm that makes every detail feel deliberate and alive.
