Gio Ponti (Milan, 1891 - Milan, 1979) graduated in Architecture in 1921. He co-founded his practice and the Milanese neo-classicists group, later creating innovative designs for Richard-Ginori, Christofle, and Venini. In 1928, he founded Domus magazine, promoting new design ideas. Ponti’s architectural works include the Pirelli Tower (1956), Villa Planchart, and Villa Arreaza. He also designed iconic furniture, such as the Leggera chair. As a professor at Milan Polytechnic from 1936, he later founded the Stile magazine. Ponti’s work evolved with a focus on surfaces, color, and light.
