Massimo Vignelli (Milan, 1931 - New York, 2014) graduated in Architecture from the IUAV University in Venice. In 1953, he began designing for Venini in Murano, creating Nordic-inspired lamps with vibrant colors. He later moved to the U.S., where he married Lella Vignelli and co-founded a design studio in Milan in 1960. In 1965, he co-founded Unimark International, designing the iconic New York subway map. In 1971, he and Lella launched Vignelli Associates in New York. Vignelli worked with major brands like Knoll, Pirelli, American Airlines, and Benetton, shaping corporate identities.
